The Challenge of Change (Newsletter: 16th July 2016)

Major changes often leave us feeling ungrounded; we miss familiarity. If you’ve moved house recently (as I have), or ended or renewed a relationship,Switchwords can help you rediscover your ground and sense of belonging.

The same goes when our life roles and identities shift: you may have become recently self-employed, or vegan, or become a parent, or a student, or… but hang on. Change is constant, isn’t it? It’s just that some changes have, or appear to have, a more profound impact than others. The upshot is that we feel pushed right out of our comfort zones.

So, I’ve been exploring the Switchwords that bring on an acceptance of change and the empowerment change offers. Acceptance can be a challenge when you’ve got the before-and-after vibe going on. You can’t really be in the (new) moment when your memories are running in parallel. You wake up and think you’re in your old bed, or you’re going to you old workplace, then with a jolt remember you’re somewhere entirely different. You’re interrupted by flashbacks interrupting the flow of NOW.

What works for me is the Universal Switchword BOW. It’s the ‘Surrender Switch’; it helps us process change gently. Add the Switchwords DIVINE-ORDER, and you have a powerful phrase that helps you surrender to change, to let go and be in the present. And when you feel present in mind and body, you certainly feel grounded:

BOW-DIVINE-ORDER

‘I trust the changes in my life to unfold in a way that’s right for me now.’

It’s also a great phrase to chant if you’re suffering because of decisions imposed upon you by other people, such as redundancy, or a relationship break-up you didn’t want.

…And a bit of news…

I guested on KCOR’s Cosmic Connection radio show this week, with Trisha G and Merlin Wizard (I haven’t asked if that’s his real name). Great discussion about tarot, numbers, and of course, Switchwords – here’s the link (Go to location 54:00 for Liz’s interview and 1:21:00 for Switchwords)

Regular visitors to this site know that our ‘Any Questions’ section gets a lot of traffic! And a BIG thank you to everyone who takes time to post a question. We hope the answers from Aunty Switch are proving helpful. People are also asking lots of questions in the Comments section of posts, so we thought it would be useful to do a digest of some the more popular questions and answers about love and relationships. Here they are:

Q: Can you attract a certain person using Switchwords?

A: You can only attract people if you are meant to be together, so Switchwords can’t guarantee the outcome. However, if you are meant to be together then TOGETHER-PRAISE-UP-LOVE can help you connect. PRAISE boosts your charisma and attractiveness, UP gets things moving and TOGETHER will bring you together.

Q: What are the Switchwords for eternal love?

A: Try: TOGETHER-LOVE-DIVINE ORDER – may love flow perfectly, may we be unified in love.

Q: How do I get my lost love back? There was a misunderstanding and now he’s not contacting me anymore

A: PURGE-CONFESS-TOGETHER. This helps you reconcile – if you are meant to be together. Chant it three times a day, ten times or so, then ‘let go’ when you’ve finished chanting – be calm and trust the mantra.

Q: How do I get my boyfriend back so we can start talking again?

A: Switchwords can help you if it’s right for you two to be together. Try: TOMORROW-RESTORE-PERFECT-LOVE. TOMORROW stops regretting the past, and RESTORE can help bring back what’s lost.

Q: What are the Switchwords that will help me strengthen my relationship with my ex, so we can get back together again?

A: Try ELOHIM-DIVINE-TOGETHER to bring you back together – but this is possible only if this is your path. If you have past issues you need to clear so you can get closer, chant SHINE-TOGETHER.

Q: I want to marry my boyfriend, but my family won’t accept him. We both love each other so what Switchwords will help?

A: SWEET-BOW-CHANGE-DIVINE-SWING-TOGETHER. This helps make the situation less of an issue, creates positive change and helps keep your relationship strong

Q: How do I meet my soul mate?

A :Try BRING-LOVE-AKASHA-DIVINE-NOW or TOGETHER-LOVE-DIVINE ORDER to call in your soul mate

Q: I have been in a relationship for the last six years and we want to get married, but my parents have rejected him as a match and are are getting good proposals from others. What will help so I can plan my life with my boyfriend?

A: Try chanting PURGE-CANCEL while directing your thoughts toward the potential marriage proposals (you can add the person’s name after CANCEL, too). As a general chant, try: DIVINE-ENVELOPE to protect you from proposals/marriage you don’t want. To strengthen your relationship with your boyfriend, chant LOVE-TOGETHER.

Q: My husband and I are separated and every time we try to reconcile, something gets in the way.

A: Try this mantra: PURGE-CONCEDE-TOGETHER-THANKS I suggest you recite it 10 or 28 times, three times a day, but the most important aspect of this chanting is to chant from a calm mindset, and trust that if you’re meant to be together, it will happen.

Q: We are on the verge of breaking up, but I want to prevent that. What should I chant?

A: You can chant a love mantra: TOGETHER-LOVE-DIVINE-ORDER; if it’s right for you to be together, this mantra helps love flow. For trust issues, chant TOGETHER-TRUST

Q: I’m in love with someone who is already married – how can we be together?

A: DIVINE-LOVE-BE-TOGETHER is a great Switchword mantra to try – but please be aware that it can work only if you are meant to be together. When you chant the mantra, try to let go of your wish and chant with a feeling of peace and trust that you will get what you need in love – with this person or with someone else who will make you happy. When we detach from a situation that is a struggle, we release energy – so events can take their course.

Q: How do I get someone to accept my marriage proposal?

A: Switchwords may help relationships if it’s right for the two of you to be together: try chanting DIVINE-LOVE-TOGETHER-BE, and know that whatever the decision, it will be right for you and the other person.

Q: My husband hasn’t spoken to me for over five months

A: This is a difficult one to respond to – for example, is your husband not talking to you, or not talking to others, too? You could try SLOW-STAR-ACT-TOGETHER to help communication, to begin with (brings patience, communication, togetherness, and raises energy)

Q: My husband won’t spend weekends with me and my child, he prefers to spend time with his family on his own

A: With Switchwords we can’t prevent people from following their own will, there are some Switchwords to help strengthen your bond as a couple – you could try: BRIGHT-STAR-LOVE-THREE.

Q: My boyfriend and I met abroad and we were in love for four years. Since I’ve come home he’s refused to communicate with me and won’t answer my calls or emails.

A: Sorry to hear you’re in this difficult situation. Try chanting TOGETHER-RESTORE-LOVE (as this helps bring back what you have lost) – but of course Switchwords can only work if you’re meant to be together (and it may not be his path to be with you, however wrong that feels for you just now). When you’ve chanting, try to let go of your wish and trust that you will be in touch again if it’s right.

Q: My boyfriend has commitment issues because of a previous bad marriage. What do I chant?

A: Try chanting SLOW-MUSIC-TOGETHER

How to Manifest with Switchwords

We get lots of requests for Switchwords to help solve specific problems or help with issues. Switchwords, when used in the right way, are a powerful tool to help us unlock the power of our subconscious minds. The key is using them in the the right way!

In this article we will explore putting Switchwords to work so you can manifest what you want in your life. This is a long article, so do persevere to the end. Good things take a little work!

Spells, Magic and Switchwords

First the bad news. Switchwords are not spells. What do we mean by that? Switchwords are not magical word potions (aka spells) that simply by saying them will cause someone to love you or make you win the lottery or get the promotion you’ve been longing for. Unfortunately it’s not as easy as that – if it were then it would be possible to have everything you wanted simply by speaking. And whilst it IS possible to manifest what you want, there’s more to it than simply chanting a few words that someone has told you will do the trick.

The words of power used in the old myths and stories, such as Alibaba, whilst appearing on the surface to be simple words, were effective because the people speaking them were adepts who deeply understood the nature of manifesting and the attitude you need to make them work. If you look at these stories more deeply, you will see they contain metaphors that illustrate the ‘way of being‘ needed to work this kind of magic which is invariably heart-centered. This way of being is the gold that the alchemists sought in order to turn the ‘lead’ of their everyday existence into something much more powerful.

So, a little more is required than simply reciting the words!

Believing that spells can ‘magic’ what you want is a kind of ‘magical thinking’ which is a stage of human development that children go through from about age 2 until around age 5. An example is a little 4-year-old girl called Suzy who tells her teacher every day that she really really wants a pony. She decides that if she collects a big pile of hay and leaves it in the playground it will encourage her desired pony to come out of hiding and eat. She gets really excited the next day when she sees that all the hay has gone. It must mean that the pony she wants so badly came during the night and ate the hay! She’s convinced that her plan worked and even though the teacher gently tells her that the caretaker swept it away, she refuses to believe it and is convinced she just needs to keep trying.

Children use magical thinking to explain the cause of events they don’t understand, and sincerely believe that they can change things and get what they want simply by wishing for it. They also believe that somehow if they ‘do’ the right things then they will get what they want. As any parent knows, this is a lovely time in their children’s development as they really do believe in Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny and Fairy Godmothers. It also explains the massive appeal of fairy stories and super-hero comics and even as adults we love to indulge our childlike wonder – in fact Hollywood relies on it! We never lose our capacity for magical thinking, but as we grow older we are able to temper it with more conceptual and rational modes of explaining the world.

Adult Magic

So does this condemn us as adults to only living in the hyper-rational world of scientific cause and effect? Absolutely not! There is overwhelming evidence throughout history of ‘non-causal’ events. Sometimes known as miracles, or outrageous good fortune or simply ‘mysterious’, people in all cultures have caused and experienced positive change in ways that can’t be explained ‘rationally’. Whilst some believe that these events are controlled by God or other supernatural forces, there is also evidence that we, as humans, can consciously cause positive and unexpected outcomes with the power of our minds. Whether you engage with this mysterious power through prayer, meditation, chanting, affirmations, alchemy, kaballah or using techniques such as The Law of Attraction or Switchwords, it seems to demonstrate that the power of intention can have magical and inexplicable positive results. But the million dollar question is how to consciously harness this power to get what we want.

Magical Thinking vs. Adult Magic

A child is not capable of rational or conceptual thought. For them the world is a very literal place and Santa Claus is actually real. Desiring something means you should get it, and this is something that we never grow out of.

Adults, on the other hand, have conceptual and rational thought available to them as well as access to more mysterious capacities such as imagination, intuition and spiritual awareness. Yet, magical thinking and the world of intuition and spirituality can get confused as they are both essentially non-rational (i.e. don’t rely on cause and effect). How can you explain an intuitive gut feeling that you just ‘know’ is right to some one who is demanding scientific evidence with cause and effect? You can’t. But it’s really important to be able to make the distinction between ‘intuition’ and simple ‘wishful thinking’. The former has great power in it, the latter is retreating back to being four years old.

Yet it is sometimes very difficult to tell the difference between magical thinking and intuitive or imaginative ‘manifesting’ as inevitably the two get mixed together. So prayers (or any other form of manifesting activity) can be a form of pleading and begging  or a tuning in to the Higher Self and a deeper wisdom available beyond the ‘everyday’. The latter can (and often does) reveal a new way of seeing the situation or manifests an unexpected but welcome event which can often seem little short of miraculous. The difference between these two ways of praying lies in the attitude and way of being. However, sometimes the begging/pleading frame of mind can also lead to tuning into higher wisdom – so it’s little wonder that we get confused and it seems like our prayers get answered in a rather arbitrary way as sometimes it seems this deeper wisdom doesn’t come up with the goods either!

The Psychology of Switchwords

Switch-words were originally discovered  by Freud who noted that certain words in the dreams of his patients had the power of acting like verbal bridges. These words had both a literal and also an subconscious covert meaning. The subconscious mind was ‘triggered’ by these words and important thoughts that were hidden from the conscious mind came to the surface. In this way switch-words enabled the subconscious mind to communicate and so reveal its secrets for Freud to analyse. Carl Jung went on to identify both the personal subconscious and the collective unconscious from which the personal subconscious gets its ‘structure’. It is this collective unconscious which is said to provide the connection to Spirit, the Universe and supposedly all knowledge.

This bringing TOGETHER of these two aspects of the mind, the ego-driven self-identity (conscious mind) and the huge mystery of the subconscious and unconscious is a source of healing and manifesting. Switchwords are also a form of hypnotic suggestion with the words ‘anchoring’ the intention in the subconscious mind. They also can work in a similar way to mantras, where the vibration of the word rather than the meaning is what gives it power.

The Subconscious Mind

What rapidly becomes clear though, is that the subconscious mind operates using ‘programmes’. Rather like a computer programme, the subconscious mind creates ways of responding  based on past experiences. Over time these ways of responding become ‘hardwired’ patterns which are automatically triggered when something similar to the original event is experienced. These patterns produce ‘ways of being’ that in turn create feelings which go on to become specific kinds of thoughts in your conscious mind – which you automatically believe to be ‘true’ about you.

There is an astonishing statistic that says about 90% of people fear public speaking more than death! Why? Often it’s to do with a childhood experience of getting something wrong in public that led to feelings of stupidity, embarrassment or shame which have an incredibly powerful impact when you’re a child. So, as a matter of survival, your conscious mind decides that you will never expose yourself to ridicule again and you most definitely will never speak in public if you can help it.

This decision sinks deep into the subconscious mind which  also remembers the feelings of panic and anguish and the physical reactions of blushing, or sweaty palms or pounding heart that went with the original humiliation. Now, every time the prospect of public speaking comes up, you find that you react with fear and panic and a pounding heart. So you absolutely avoid public speaking – even though as an adult you know you are perfectly capable of it . The subconscious mind is only doing its job – trying to protect you as you asked it to do with that original decision, but as an adult you may find this fear is holding you back from getting the job of your dreams because it involves doing public presentations. And it may seem like you can’t do anything about it because this pattern, or way of being (fearful), is beyond your conscious control. The feelings kick in and the thoughts start running before you have chance to get a hold of them. Often you don’t even know why you feel this way – you just don’t speak in public – and you rationalise it by saying it’s just the way you are.

And of course, we made hundreds if not thousands of decisions like this as we were growing up, so by the time we reach adulthood there’s a lot of subconscious ‘stuff’ running the show. And we don’t even know it’s there.

Ouch.

Manifesting with Switchwords

So, bringing all these strands together – this is what we are dealing with when we set out to manifest our dreams:

  • getting confused on how it all works and falling into using Switchwords like spells – and then wondering why they don’t work
  • distinguishing magical thinking from adult ‘intuitive’ or ‘imaginative’ thinking which is where the power is
  • understanding the patterns or blocks in our subconscious minds that are getting in the way of our conscious intentions
  • adopting the right attitude and way of being that opens up the communication between the conscious, subconscious and collective unconscious – or put another way – between yourself, Higher Self and the Universe

Here are some steps to guide you when using Switchwords

  1. Before you begin chanting pay attention to your expectations – why are you doing this? Focus on the feelings you want to achieve with this practice (heart) rather than the tangible results (head). Try to experience the feeling now, and deepen it as best you can.
  2. Tune into your current ‘state of being’. Are you being needy? Fearful? Resentful? Childish? Upset? Grasping?  If you find yourself being something less than positive, try to alter your state to one of being grateful or being in awe  – both of these states are highly productive when it comes to manifesting! You can choose some other uplifting state of being if you prefer (like being joyous, or being blessed or whatever appeals to you).
  3. If you find it difficult to alter your state of being try saying something like ‘I am inventing the possibility of being grateful’. Using the idea of creating this state as a possibility is more powerful than saying something like ‘I am being grateful’ as that often triggers the conscious mind to contradict you (we’re all very familiar with that little voice in our head that immediately contradicts attempts at affirmations). After all, anything is possible!
  4. Once you’ve got yourself into this ‘higher vibration’ state of mind and heart feeling both the positive feeling you want to achieve and also the state of being that feels right (i.e. gratitude, joy, awe or whatever feels right to you) then start by chanting or tapping in TOGETHER ten times. Notice (and write down if you can) any momentary flashes of thoughts, images or feelings that cross your mind. These are your clue to the blocks that lie in the subconscious mind. This is not easy to do and requires time and attention.
  5. Do this TOGETHER exercise for three days – in the morning when you wake and just before you sleep.
  6. You may or may not get insights from the TOGETHER exercise, however, be sure that it is working at a subconscious level and that whatever happens is perfect.
  7. Now you are ready to chant your Switchwords prescription for the thing you want to achieve. Remember to put yourself into ‘higher vibration’ mode by attending and creating both the feelings you want to achieve and also a positive way of being.
  8. Don’t expect the results to appear either immediately or in the form you think they ‘should’ appear. Be open to the Universe who is wise beyond all comprehension and who cares deeply about you and will bring you what you need for the higher good of all concerned.

Finally, know that any work you do to improve your vibration and abundance is a gift to the world  – so blessings on you.

We get lots of requests for prescriptions for money, business and career and you will find these scattered around our site in both the Question & Answers section and also on comments. For your convenience we have compiled some of the most popular questions and answers in this post.

Q:  I have been searching to break a cycle of boom and bust in my life for years, I have been told recently this is due to fighting myself because I fear my greatness or I’m scared of who I am. Any suggestions to which Switchwords would help expose and eliminate this fear?”

A: Try TOGETHER-BLUFF-DIVINE-LOVE. I’d work with TOGETHER on its own for a few days first, and journal what comes up for you after chanting – then try the mantra. BLUFF helps deal with fear, and DIVINE-LOVE helps with love for the self (i.e. avoiding self-sabotage).

Q:  I am running a clinic and I want to increase it with success and to help people with good and satisfactory results.

A:  Chant DIVINE-GIVE to attract clients – it really works!

Q: How long do switchwords take to work? I am in a big financial crisis. Please help!

A: Switchwords work best when you’re not panicking. Be calm, take a breath, and chant, then let go of your wish and trust things will improve. You can add a deadline to a Switchword phrase e.g. GOLDEN SUNRISE-COUNT-TOGETHER-JUNE1, but I find they work just as well without a date.

Q:  I am a working woman with a child. The management of my company has decide to change our present office location to a far away place which will take me four hours to get to.  This change will affect my life badly, and it is not easy to get a new job again in the same field with the same salary, If i change to the new location then my in-laws/husband will not allow me to work.  Please help me.

A: I’m afraid Switchwords cannot solve every problem – and if your company has decided to relocate, you may need to look at other options. To help new opportunities come to you, try chanting DIVINE-REACH-COUNT-TOGETHER-SUDDENLY-BE-DONE.

Q: I am working in an office and my work gets stuck as I am always given complex projects. I want my work to be smoothly done so my work is appreciated and I get promoted with a rise in salary.

A: First of all, begin by manifesting efficiency by chanting DIVINE ORDER-ATTENTION. This is the magic phrase that helps you get everything done well and in good time, and handle detailed work. When you’re happy with how you are managing your work and are ready for promotion and praise, chant: COUNT-TOGETHER-SHINE-TOGETHER. This helps bring in money and special attention.

Q: I have lent a lot of money to a person and he is not paying me back. What are the Switchwords to get it back?

A:  See here for an article on this

Q: My joining a new company for a job is being delayed by paperwork.  What switch words should I chant to speed this up?

A: Try chanting this mantra: GIVE-BOW-NOW-CIRCULATE

Q: I was searching for a specific job but couldn’t get it. So I did external training, studied at home and have now got the job although it hasn’t started yet. I am worried about my performance and I am not sure if I will be able to handle the work properly due to lack of experience. Whenever I go to the office, my heart starts beating fast, thinking what kind of work will I get,  and will I be able to do it or not and many things. I can’t even sleep properly at night. But one thing is for sure, I am putting all my effort into reading documents and practising the work. Can you help me?

A: Try DUCK-TOGETHER-CRYSTAL-SHINE-BE. Also, trust that the employer made the right decision to take you on. You’re doing all you can to succeed; and you can succeed. (Do chant OFF at night if it’s hard to sleep; boost with TOGETHER-OFF). I’d suggest you chant around 10 times, three times per day before work, at lunchtime, and once in the evening, and forget about chanting and Switchwords when you’re not actually chanting. If you feel very anxious at any point during the work day, chant BLUFF-HO a few times to help you feel more calm and relaxed.

Q: Please suggest something for me to get easy and willing approval for my transfer to the department of my choice at work.

A: You could try BRING-PRAISE-GIVE-BE-DONE – though please be aware that Switchwords are not magic spells – we need to work on our intention and vibration too, so generate a positive intention to contribute to your new department when you chant i.e. what can I offer (rather than ‘what will they give me?’)

Questions and comments about love and relationships continue to pour in and we really appreciate your continued support. Here is a compilation of some more questions and answers to help you discover the right Switchwords prescription for you. As ever, feel free to swap the words around until you get that ‘ah hah!’ feeling. And don’t forget to read our article ‘How to Manifest with Switchwords‘ to get the most out of your practice.

Q: Please suggest a powerful Switchword to get my ex back in my life forever

A: You can chant TOMORROW-BRING but please be aware that we can only manifest what is right for us and the other person – they can only open up possibility.

Q: I want to marry my boyfriend as I love him a lot. I want to live happily with him and have him love me more than I love him. I keep chanting TOGETHER.

A: Keep chanting TOGETHER! You can also add these Switchwords: TOGETHER-DIVINE-LOVE

Q:  I just started to see someone. But in the last couple of weeks things started to slow down. I really like this guy. So please help me with a Switchword to make things work between us.

A:  Try BUBBLE-RESTORE-LOVE-UP to bring the energy back into your relationship. Also try DIVINE-LOVE-TOGETHER. If the relationship is meant to be, these words can help smooth the path.

Q: I want my ex-boyfriend back, he’s currently not even talking to me.

A: Switchwords can only help if you’re meant to be together – rather than bring him back because you think it’s right for you without considering what he wants. You can try TOGETHER-DIVINE-REACH-RESTORE.

Q: Can you use Switchwords to stop your husband being jealous?

A: You might try MONA LISA, which helps dispel jealousy.

Q: My boyfriend and I broke up 3 months ago. Unfortunately I did something really bad so he stopped all contact with me.  He won’t talk to me or even look at me and has blocked me from his phone and everywhere else. I need a Switchword for him to forgive me and give me another chance.

A:  You could try: TOGETHER-TOMORROW-CHANGE-RESTORE-BE. Of course there’s no guarantee that Switchwords will bring him back if he is determined that the relationship is over, but these words can help bring forgiveness.

Q: I’ve been in an on-again, off-again relationship for almost 8 years. At first, breakups were short (an hour the first time, lol!) but they are now progressively longer (the last one lasted 15 months, so I was sure it was over!). Since both of us evolved a lot whilst apart, the relationship never started up where it last ended, but in a better place. There is love, respect, and sexual attraction. But certain incompatibilities don’t make it viable long term or for marriage purposes, which is what I want. I’m looking to connect spiritually, emotionally, and intellectually with my partner. Obviously simply leaving does not work, and staying together eventually goes south as well. Could you recommend Switchwords to find a more suitable partner and let go of this one so he can find a suitable partner as well?

A: Try THANKS-BRING-LOVE-DIVINE, which helps you let go of him, be strong and attract new love. Congratulations on getting to this point and here’s to a great new relationship for you.

Q: Is that a Switchword that will convince my parents that my boyfriend is suitable for marriage?

A:  While Switchwords can’t ‘convince’ others, you can chant to create change in yourself that may help your situation because your vibration can affect others. So try chanting LOVE-BLESSING-LOVE-DIVINE which honours your relationship with your boyfriend and sees him as a BLESSING. Hopefully they’ll come to see him as a BLESSING too!

LOVE – Sometimes the Universe has other plans…

My parents won’t let us get married. What Switchwords can I chant to make them accept our relationship? Please help. It’s urgent.

My husband has been abusive but I still love him. What Switchwords can I say to make him come back?

I want our friendship to be something more, but he says he’s not attracted to me. How can I change his mind?

We get questions like this most days.

Switchwords help communication. If you have that, anything is possible. (Try ACT, the communication Switchword, with TOGETHER and LOVELOVE-ACT-TOGETHER).

But Switchwords are not intended to interfere with your life path. Of course, we have free will – we can create our future with our thoughts and actions – but when a relationship breaks up, this can be the Universe telling us that we’ve been heading in the wrong direction. And that’s hard, if you’ve invested so much time trying to make a relationship right.

Here’s what can help: Trust that if you’re meant to be with this person, things can work out. But if the relationship is so much work, with too many tumultuous ups and downs, it’s likely you’re not going with the flow of the Universe. If it’s abusive, it’s not right. Chant DIVINE-ORDER for life to go as it should. DIVINE ORDER asks that you follow your wise higher self, the part of you that has your best interests at heart. It helps put everything in the right order – from helping life to run more smoothly to reorganizing your home or even tuning a musical instrument: with DIVINE ORDER, everything resonates perfectly.

It’s also a great Switch-phrase to say when you need lots of things at once. Rather than chant a whole list of words to cover all your different needs, go with DIVINE ORDER.

Christmas Made Easy with Switchwords (Newsletter: 8th December 2014)

Lots has been happening in the world of Switchword Power since our last update – we’re plotting some launch parties for the book across the country! Venues secret just now, but I hope to have more news shortly (and you’re all invited!)

We’ll also be announcing the winner of the signed copy of my new book ‘SWITCHWORDS: USE ONE WORD TO GET WHAT YOU WANT’. If you don’t have a copy yet and would like to win one, there’s a few days until the competition closing date – [Competition now closed]. And thanks for all the entries so far.

In the meantime, here are some Switchwords to help you enjoy the Christmas party season:

WRAP up your Christmas shopping

How do you keep your sanity when, as Kipling put it, all around you are losing theirs? The pressures of Christmas are of course, financial, and the temptation to overspend is powerful, even when you think you’ve resisted most of the screaming ads to buy, buy, buy.

Last weekend, I was just about to leave John Lewis when a sale offer right by the door got me. I turned around, bought one more gift – then another. If I’d remembered my Switchwords for curbing spending – CUT-WRAP-DONE – I wouldn’t have bought perfume ‘for my sister’ that I know I’m going to keep as a little treat for myself – oops. When Christmas frenzy tempts you to keep on consuming, CUT switches off your impulse to buy; WRAP protects you so you don’t get caught up in the spending madness. DONE brings your request quickly – and puts the seal on your WRAP.

Got it? CUT-WRAP-DONE, CUT-WRAP DONE, CUT-WRAP DONE. Chant it, too, when you’re flitting around websites instead of doing your work – it CUTs down the temptation to whip out your credit card…

Take comfort

The festive season, as we know, has its emotional demands, too. Along with the drinking, eating and general good cheer, there’s a chance you’ll have to spend at least part of the holiday with a person who you usually wouldn’t choose to be with. You know them of old and, no matter how you try to keep calm around them, they seem to get under your skin: sober or sozzled, they’re irritating, or perhaps they make you feel uncomfortable in some other way.

Before you see this person, chant DE-PROGRAMME ten times; this helps remove the negative association you have with them – so they can’t fall into the same patterns of behaviour around you. It’s the Law of Attraction in action: negatively just attracts more. Reduce it with DE-PROGRAMME, and you’ll find you get less negative energy, and irritation, back.

If they do behave badly, though (often the case after a few cocktails), go for this nifty phrase: HOLD-BE. Chant it silently; HOLD  helps you hold your space and feel centred, rather than huffing out of the room (or saying what you really think…) while BE brings peace and wellbeing.

And more joy!

When you’re having a really good time, chant STRETCH – this prolongs the good yuletide vibes!

Use Switchword Power to Achieve Your Dreams in 2016 (Newsletter: 18th January 2016)

I’ve been getting lots of Switchword questions and comments on two themes that affect us at this time of year: money and mood.

Officially, it’s Blue Monday today – the third Monday of January that’s supposedly the least inspiring of the entire year: credit card statements roll in, the enthusiasm of New Year Resolutions wear thin and if you’re not drinking/spending/eating your weight in chocolate, January 31 seems a long, long way off…

The upside of January, though, is that can be a time for self-reflection – making new plans and taking on the odd challenge or two that you’ve been putting off.  A good de-clutter at home gets the old energy flowing, a tad more exercise boosts those endorphins, and you might also appreciate the calm after the commercial bombardment of the festive season.

Here are a few Switchword phrases to help you with your wishes for the coming year. Chant them around ten times, three times a day (but you can chant more often if you like – just remember to cultivate calm when you chant, rather than let any feelings of desperation creep in). Then emotionally let go of your wish, and let the Universe get on with bringing it to you.

First things first – if you get your money sorted, everything else looks a whole lot brighter. (If you’re about to tackle your tax return, chant HALFWAY – it won’t feel so tortuous and you’ll get it done more quickly. Prefix with BLUFF if the whole idea of the tax return is making you anxious – I use this one every year with a bit of deep breathing…!)

Bringing in money – stage 1

First, chant POVERTY-CANCEL to clear poverty consciousness – the belief that being broke is an inescapable fact of life. It isn’t; you deserve abundance. You might find, right after you chant, that ‘block beliefs’ begin to arise. These can be come as memory flashes, or other mental images that tell you what, deep down, may be switching off your money flow. (It’s worth spending some time acknowledging these subconscious impressions, bringing them into your conscious awareness, so you can better understand what may be behind your current attitudes to, and experience of, money, wealth and poverty).  If you don’t intuitively sense there’s a block here, and that your situation now is purely circumstances, skip on to stage 2.

POVERTY-CANCEL helps clear money debt and karmic debt.

Bringing in money – stage 2

To get money flowing to you:

DIVINE-FIND-COUNT-NOW-DONE

(I know I’ve shared this one before, but it really works – it brings money and also inventive ways to create money. Do work with POVERTY-CANCEL for a day or two before you try it, to clear any underlying blocks.)

Switching it Up for Spring!

Spring brings the urge to emerge and explore what’s possible now: more fulfilling work, a jolt of inspiration, new ways to shine and express your creativity? If so, unzip that Arctic parka, remove clutter, and find a calm minute to manifest what you want with Switchwords.

Before you say the words, clear away any desk clutter so you’re energetically ready to receive new work, find a moment of calm, then say the words and let go of your wish (I visualize my Switchwords on a piece of paper that grows wings and flies up to the Universe… works for me!).

The Power of GIVE

I love that GIVE worked for so many of you (it’s included in the Switchwords feature in the April issue of ‘Chat It’s Fate’ magazine; thank you, Jolene, for your interview on your business success with GIVE!)

Thing is, though, while we want to be busy, we need quality, too; fulfilling opportunities that remind us why we do what we do. So let’s switch up a level with the GIVE phrase – chant around ten times, three times a day.

GIVE-STAR-DIVINE-REACH-BE-DONE

GIVE brings clients and helps you sell yourself in a way that’s authentic to who you are – through giving. STAR is one of my new Switches that adds a sprinkle of inspiration to REACH, that wonderful ‘find’ command that helps you find lost items, solve problems and get whatever feels just out of reach for you now.DIVINE asks for a miracle, while BE-DONE is the ‘sign off’ for your request, speeding it up and helping you trust that you’ll get what you need.

CHLORINE-ELATE

If it’s time to expand your network to bring in more work offers and contacts to help you find a job, chant this power-phrase.

This is the Switch-phrase for networking – chant it before any networking you do; to manifest opportunities to expand your network, prefix with BRING:

BRING-CHLORINE-ELATE

My CHLORINE chant seems to be bringing lots of Switchword coaching, which I love.

You can still get a coaching session with me via Skype. And keep sending your amazing feedback on the Switchwords you’ve tried – I try to reply to questions and emails within a day or so. Just go to the Questions area
